You may choose to create a unique email message to send with the Digital Pass install link specifically for gift memberships. This message will be used for both Automatic Detection and manual Pass Creation in XTruLink, as well as new gift memberships sold via Altru. 

If the gift install email message is not configured (i.e. left blank), the standard Digital Pass Install Email will be sent for gift memberships. 

You may configure the gift membership install email via Digital Passes > Email Templates > Gift Install.

What can be included in the gift install email?Any desired text and images, along with membership details and the digital pass install link.Any desired text and images, along with membership details and the digital pass install link.
When is the gift install email sent?The date selected by the giver during the transaction.The transaction date, within 10 minutes of purchase.

Is the gift install email sent for both new memberships as well as renewals?Yes.No, only new memberships receive the gift message. For renewals, you may manually send or schedule the gift message once the membership has been synced to XTruLink (more about this in the section below). 
Can the gift install email include a gift message from the giver?Yes, if the giver provides a message at time of transaction, this may be included in the email.No, this will not be included if auto-detection is used to send the message. The Add Gift Membership flow in Altru back office, Daily Sales, and Advance Sales does not collect this information. You may add gift info when manually sending or scheduling a gift message (more about this in the section below).

Can I reschedule the gift install email?Yes, you may reschedule the send date via the membership record page in XTruLink.Via auto-detect, the email will be sent within 10 minutes of purchase. If the email is not sent, you may manually schedule it. 

Dynamic Variables

The variables below may be used within your gift install email message. Those circled in red will not trigger any value when the gift membership was sold through Altru.

Conditionals

Conditionals control a specified block of information in your message. You may have used them before in your XTruLink sales order receipt template. Some conditionals are available for your gift install email message, however conditionals will ONLY apply to gift memberships processed via XTruLink. They will not trigger for Altru sales. Please see the list of available conditionals below. 

To use conditionals in your message, copy the full conditional to your template and replace the ellipsis (...) with the text you wish to display if the conditional is true. You may also use dynamic variables within that text if you wish. 

Here is an example:

This information only shows if the giver provided a personal message for the recipient.

The italicized text above would only show on a receipt if a gift giver message was present on the order. 

Scheduling and Rescheduling Gift Install Messages

During a gift membership transaction on your XTruLink web portal, the giver may choose the date to send the gift install email to the recipient. This scheduled date will be displayed on the membership record in XTruLink back office, on the Scheduled Gift Install Messages tab:

You may choose to edit this scheduled message by clicking the edit icon. When editing, you may update the scheduled send date, the gift giver name, personalization field (i.e. personalized name), and gift message.

You may also remove a scheduled send, if needed, by using the X icon. 

In addition to editing a scheduled send, you can manually schedule a gift install message via the same tab. Click the Schedule a Gift Install Message to create a scheduled gift install message. The manual option will allow you to select the recipient (either the gift recipient or the giver), and you may also update the giver name, personalization, and message. The system will automatically display the gift info for the most recent gift, if available, from Altru.
