Your payment kiosks can be configured to sell programs for members only, alongside your programs for the general public. These may be daily admission, scheduled, or pre-registered programs. When a members only program is selected on kiosk, the customer will be prompted to scan their membership card or enter their membership card barcode value. They will then have access to tickets and will be granted any automatic discounts set in Altru. Any ticket quantities above the automatic discount limits will result in a paid transaction for the additional tickets.
How to Create a Members Only Kiosk Product
Navigate to Kiosks > Products and click Add Products. Enter the required information, selecting "Default Mode" for a daily admission program or "Event Mode" for scheduled or pre-registered programs.
You may then update the settings for this product. Be sure to Click Save Changes when prompted.
On the Settings tab for your new product, select the "Members Only" checkbox.
On the Products tab, add the price types you wish to allow.
Configure an appropriate descriptive text in the Display tab > Description box to inform the member that discounts will be applied in the cart. Add this product to the Kiosk Template you are using.
In Altru, confirm that you have an automatic discount (100% off) configured for the admission program and price types on your kiosk product. You may need to create several automatic discounts to accommodate the different levels of memberships and the number of members that each level allows.
Optionally, configuring per order ticket limits (via Cloud Setup > Programs) can further limit the total number of tickets allowed per visit.
What does the customer transaction flow look like for members only programs?
The button may be configured to look as you wish, example below.
The member will then be asked to scan their membership barcode (either paper or digital pass) or enter their membership ID.
The member will be prompted to select tickets. Any tickets selected beyond the number of uses you allow in the discount code will increase the order total and charge the member for those additional guest tickets. The member discount will reduce the allowed tickets to zero.
Member name, email address and phone number will auto populate on the confirmation screen as a result of scanning their membership card or entering their membership ID.
If the order total is zero, the member will be presented with the completion page and will receive an email or text with their order confirmation. If an amount is due for extra guests, they will be prompted for payment using the payment terminal.
